Be Well OC Welcomes Jeff Tennen as Executive Director of Mobile Operations

Irvine, CA. (February 28, 2025) – Be Well OC today announced that Jeff Tennen has joined the organization as Executive Director of Mobile Operations. He is a retired United States Marine Corps Officer with 20 years of experience in addressing large-scale, mission-critical challenges who assumed his new role this month.

“Jeff is a results-driven strategic thinker and decisive leader, exceptionally skilled in training and cultivating teams, monitoring and enhancing overall performance, and translating high-level objectives into actionable plans and robust frameworks to address both current and future needs,” said Phillip Franks, Chief Executive Officer, Be Well OC. “There is no better leader to helm the ongoing evolution and growth of the Be Well Mobile Response Program as we respond to critical mental health and wellness needs of Orange County.”

Tennen most recently served as Veterans Experience Officer at the Department of Veteran Affairs where he led the team responsible for several patient experience improvements. This includes the “WeCare” Rounding Tool which has been implemented in more than 125 VA medical facilities with improved patient satisfaction scores for veterans, and the “Patient Experience (PX) Road Map to Excellence” and the accompanying Patient Experience Guidebook. His prior experience also includes extensive public and private sector work in East Asia with host nation governments and U.S. Embassies and Consulates, which has equipped him with a unique cultural awareness and the ability to work effectively with people from diverse
backgrounds.

Tennen holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from University of California Riverside, and a Master of Business Administration and Asia-Pacific Global Management Certificate from UCLA Anderson School of Management.

“I am eager to use my experience and leadership training to contribute to the important work being carried out by the Be Well OC Mobile Response team, day-in and day-out in service to the Orange County community,” said Tennen. “The opportunity to expand the reach of our mental health and wellness efforts to even more residents and community partners is something I am both focused on and excited about. By working together, we can magnify the impact and offer resources to all in need across the county.”
