About The Movement

Be Well OC is a community-wide strategy to build a more compassionate and accessible mental health care system in Orange County leveraging the Be Well Blueprint. Be Well unites stakeholders from healthcare, academia, and the public and private sectors in a shared effort that leverages each of their unique strengths and capabilities.

Through strategic, collaborative partnerships and investments in mental health infrastructure like the Mobile Response Team and state-of-the-art campuses, Be Well OC is transforming the way mental health care is perceived, delivered and supported in the Orange County community.

And this is just the beginning. The ultimate goal is to start a movement to help communities across America improve mental health services by building a new model of what a world-class mental health care system should look like — right here in Orange County.

Mission

Be Well OC will enhance the behavioral health care system for all Orange County residents through a transformational public private partnership

What We've Accomplished so Far

The behavioral needs of the community continue to grow and become more complex. Be Well OC along with County residentials, patients, and other stakeholders believe we must transform a fractured behavioral health delivery system.

The significant investment in the infrastructure and behavioral health system that Be Well OC created has been imperative in what we’ve been able to accomplish thus far at the Be Well Orange Campus. Since the opening of the Campus in 2021:

Program admissions have increased by 25% since Be Well OC took over management service from the county.

A 24/7 call center staffed with nurse and navigation experts was established to close utilization and navigation gaps and support the work being done by          the Campus’ clinical service providers. Over 3,200 calls were answered from June to August 2024 for individuals requesting services or resources.

Our work is far from over. We remain committed to finding innovative ways to close gaps and further connect behavioral health services offered by Be Well OC and our partners across the continuum of care.
