Be Well OC Spotlight: Myriam Moreno
Leading with Passion and Purpose

The Be Well Orange County team is proud to partner with Myriam Moreno, a lead construction project engineer with CalComm, whose dedication and expertise are helping bring the vision of the new Be Well Irvine Campus to life.
A graduate of UC Irvine with a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Myriam sought a career where she could be more hands-on and give back to her community. That journey led her to healthcare design and construction, where she now plays a vital role in coordinating across all disciplines on the job site.
With her technical skill, eye for detail, and deep commitment to the mission of Be Well, Myriam has become an integral part of the project’s success. Beyond her engineering expertise, she has built meaningful relationships with team members across the board. As a bilingual communicator fluent in English and Spanish, she helps bridge gaps and foster connection among the diverse onsite team.
How Myriam Prioritizes Mental Health
One way my family and I care for our mental health is by turning to something simple, beautiful, and healing—nature. Life can move fast, and the weight of daily stress, anxiety, and worry can quietly build up. In those moments, we have found comfort in the small act of planting and caring for living things. It’s become a shared ritual that brings us closer—not just to each other, but to ourselves.
We each have our own plant to look after. My dad lovingly tends to his kumquat tree, proud of its resilience. My mom has a collection of rose bushes that she nurtures with such tenderness. And I have a fig tree, growing slowly, quietly—just like I am. Each plant holds a little piece of us, and caring for them feels like we’re also caring for our hearts.
There’s something incredibly grounding about getting your hands in the soil, feeling the breeze, or simply sitting beside a plant and watching it grow. It reminds us to breathe, to be patient, and to be present. When life feels overwhelming, just stepping outside, watering a plant, or even pausing to notice a flower in bloom can offer a moment of peace and clarity. It’s not about fixing everything—it’s about finding gentle moments of relief, where healing can begin.
Nature doesn’t rush, and neither should we. In caring for the plants, we’re reminded that it’s okay to slow down, to rest, and to tend to ourselves with just as much kindness.
